Fitness & HealthMany times, I've been asked "What works?"  This is from friends, acquaintances and prospective clients.  Some are looking for the "quick fix - magic bullet" that takes little effort but yet achieves great results.  We've all seen or read those ads, right?  Others are seriously tired of trying every fad diet, weight loss pill, supplement, miracle piece of fitness equipment and/or "target" exercise.  None of them have found what "works" for them.

So, what does work? Well, after working with various clients for almost 10 years, I’ve noticed a number of characteristics that separate those who succeed with their health and fitness program and those who don't.

Symptoms of Dehydration

WaterDehydration leads to so many health problems. Eventually a particular symptom of dehydration can lead to serious disease and illness. From asthma to ulcers, and almost everything in between, symptoms of dehydration warn us of possible serious health problems on the horizon.

Dehydration signs are similar to high blood pressure in that both are "silent" but affect many systems and can eventually lead to serious health problems.

A Few Common Fitness “Nigglies” and Ideas for Prevention

The following is an article that I wrote for the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival's newsletter.  But, it's also relevant for our fitness class clients too.

Shoulder PainI tend to use the word "niggly" instead of "injury" when referring to that twinge or irritating area that "sort of hurts" but isn't enough to stop you from paddling.
