What Works? Five Basic Principles For Fitness Success

Many times, I've been asked "What works?"  This is from friends, acquaintances and prospective clients.  Some are looking for the "quick fix - magic bullet" that takes little effort but yet achieves great results.  Others are seriously tired of trying every fad diet, weight loss pill, supplement, miracle piece of fitness equipment and/or "target" exercise.  None of them have found what "works" for them.

So, what does work?  Well, after working with various bootcamp and personal training clients for almost 10 years, I’ve noticed a number of characteristics that separate those who succeed with their health and fitness goals and those who don't.

Nutrition Info – Soaking (Activating) Nuts and Seeds

There's been quite a bit of talk (and some confusion) around an easy, ready to go snack idea - nuts and seeds.

Many clients groan when I tell them that after purchasing their RAW nuts and seeds, to fully utilize the nutrition they offer, you must soak them.  I stress RAW as "roasted" nuts and seeds aren't as easy to digest and the benefits derived from soaking is null and void if they've already been roasted.

Soaking your nuts and seeds begins the process of sprouting, which "wakes" the seeds into a living state, making their nutrients more available to digest.  Some refer to this as "activating" the seeds, I like and use that term.
