There's An App For ThatI've been offering Personal Training options and Outdoor Boot Camps in the Victoria area for over 8 years and with the great weather and outdoor locations many more fitness companies have joined the ranks offering all kinds of ways to get fit.  When I started Alter Ego Fitness Experience, there were maybe 10 similar (outdoor boot camp style) companies in the Greater Victoria area.  Now, 8 years later, a quick Google search will reveal that there are probably closer to 40 or 50 companies competing for the same clients.  This is nothing but a win-win for you, the client, or is it?

Outdoor Boot Camp VS Gym Machine Workout!

Alter Ego Fitness - Group ClassI recently had a discussion with a Personal Training client on the benefits of doing an outdoor boot camp class versus a gym workout with machines.  It was interesting to hear their perspective on the perceived benefits, and drawbacks, for each of those options.  Based on those comments, I believe now would be a prudent and appropriate time for me to share a bit of my passion and knowledge.

There Is No Wagon!

Red WagonWhen a client has a "slip" or fails to stick with a planned course of action regarding their fitness and/or nutrition, they may often say that they've simply "fallen off the wagon" and will then promise to re-commit to a healthier lifestyle. The "wagon", in this scenario, symbolizes their perceived standard of where they think they "should be". The concept is that, as long as there IS a wagon there's also the possibility of either being on it or off it. The truth is, when it comes to your health and fitness, there is no wagon!
