Recipe: Raspberry Ginger Smoothie

Are you looking for another great smoothie recipe?

Raspberry Ginger SmoothieThis one is a slight variation on our Raspberry Orange Smoothie (posted in January 2013) and includes the refreshing and healing benefits of ginger and spinach.

We served samples of this at our 2nd Annual Love Yourself Event yesterday.  Everyone loved it and asked what was included in the drink.  So, here for your taste buds delight, is the recipe:

2 cups                             almond milk (plain or vanilla) *

1/2 cup                           black cherry juice

2 tbsp (heaping)           hemp hearts

1                                       banana

1                                       heaping handful of frozen raspberries

1                                       chunk of ginger, peeled and cut into small pieces

1                                       handful of baby spinach

1                                       green apple, chopped into pieces

Simply throw all the ingredients into your blender, blend until smooth and ENJOY!

*  -  I make my own almond mylk, as follows:  1 cup of soaked almonds (soaked overnite), 4 cups of water (filtered is best) and 2 dates (soft or soak for 4 hours in 4 tbsp of water).  Blend on high.  Then using cheesecloth, trap the almond pulp (this can be used in our Yam crackers recipe).  If you want the vanilla flavour add 3 to 4 drops of vanilla extract or add 1/4 inch of vanilla bean.  So yummy and fresh tasting!
