Recipe – Easy Blackberry Jam

Easy Blackberry JamThis may be the easiest jam recipe ever!

In fact, the hardest (and longest) part of the whole process is picking the blackberries.  The jam has very few ingredients.  That means that it’s vegan, pectin free, gluten free AND delicous!

Once you actually get to work on it, you’ll quickly see how simple and easy it is.  But, you should also feel free to play around with substituting different kinds of berries (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, etc.) and healthy sweeteners (honey, agave, maple syrup, etc).  For example, in the last batch that a friend and I just made, after we blended the ingredients, we added in about a cup of whole blackberries for a more “chunky” variety.    And, if you’re feeling more adventurous, you can also play around with adding different spices and/or citrus flavourings!

When you make your jam, please come back and tell us what you think and what other variations you’re considering or have already done.

Ingredients:

2 heaping cups of blackberries

2 tablespoons of chia seeds

1 tablespoon of maple syrup (or more if you want it sweeter)

Directions:

Add all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

Pour into jars or containers and let it “set” overnight in the fridge.

Use and ENJOY!
