With the number of people that are adopting a gluten-free diet due to a diagnosis as celiac, believing they have a gluten-sensitivity, having affected family members or simply a personal lifestyle choice, we thought it was a great time for us to try out more recipes that fit the need. This burger, no matter your choice of meat, tastes great!
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground organic meat (chicken, bison, or beef)
1/3 cup finely chopped scallions
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp ground Himalayan sea salt
1 tsp pepper
1/2 cup garbanzo or almond flour
1 egg
Optional: experiment by adding additional (or different) spices to suit your taste.
Directions:
Mix the ground meat, scallions, garlic and egg together in a larger bowl.
Combine all remaining ingredients together and then add to the meat mixture. Work it in with your hands to ensure that it is well mixed and the spices are spread throughout.
Shape into patties. It may be sticky, so you may want to wet your hands with water before shaping each one.
Heat pan, add a little olive oil or preheat barbeque to medium heat.
Pan fry, or barbeque, until done. About 4-7 minutes on each side, depending on the cooking temperature and thickness of patty.
