This is a drink that not only tastes amazing but also does amazing things to support your overall health! That makes it a good supplement to your treatment options for numerous ailments. In addition to its anti-inflammatory action, turmeric also has strong antioxidant, antiviral, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. It also helps to reduce inflammation, aids in digestion and it’s a natural liver detoxifier. There are SO many health benefits from one small root!
Start your day off right with a shot of this immune boosting elixir and/or take another shot before bed. Make a large batch and keep it on hand for a quick drink.
Ingredients:
1 ½ inches Turmeric root (fresh)
1/2 inch Ginger (fresh)
1/2 tsp Fresh ground black pepper
Juice of 2 lemons
2 cups of water
Preparation
Before proceeding, remember that turmeric will stain many things. So, be prepared to have yellow fingers for a while and use a cutting board that you don’t mind getting stained.
Now, peel the turmeric and ginger, then cut them into small, easily blended, pieces. Combine all ingredients and blend at high speed until smooth.
If desired, you can add a pinch or two of cayenne and, to sweeten it, some honey or agave. I didn’t do either and it was fine.
Pour into a container and store in your fridge.
Drink a shot (1 or 2 ounces) each morning and/or night.
